Museum

The Center's dioramas depict plants and animals found in Napa County marsh, woodland, grassland, riparian and chaparral habitats.

Also on permanent display are several birds of prey and various rocks and miner¬als on loan from the Napa Valley Rock and Gem Society.

Special displays may be seasonal, topical or interactive, highlighting almost any aspect of local natural history.

The Museum houses a collection of study skins, skulls and bird nests to observe and handle. An insect display and lightboard game are other popular features. A large collection of children's nature books may be read on site or borrowed by members. A small library of nature videos and a TV/ VCR for their viewing completes the children's corner.

The Nature Center Library contains an extensive collection of natural history books. All guests may use our books on site. Members may borrow non-reference selections.
